 Due to the ongoing pandemic situation, the Indian economy witnessed a downfall. To stabilize the Indian economy, PM Narendra Modi had addressed the nation with the emphasis on Atma Nirbharta. 1. Bira 91 for beer

This home-brewed beer brand has emerged as the leading name in the alcohol industry. Bira is considered as the favored beer over its misnamed counterpart Corona Beer. Beer is known for the production of flavored rice and wheat beer. Apart from Bira, there are several other Indian alcohol brands such as Old Monk, Amrut, Kingfisher, and Royal challenge, which ace at the game. The IMFL tags at the country’s bars carry more nationalistic sentiment than ever and have boosted the sale of Indian alcohols after the lockdown lift.

2. Mysore Sandal/ Medimix/ Patanjali soaps

6. Himalaya/Lotus/ Biotique 

 The Indian skincare brands like Himalaya, Lotus, Shahnaz Hussein, and Biotique have become prominent names in the skincare industry. These Indian skincare brands have become prominent names in the indigenous skincare industry. The brands work towards incorporation the principles of Ayurveda and traditional Indian skincare recipes in the formulation of the products. The skincare market has an influx of exotic skin brands such as The Body Shop, L’oreal, Garnier, and brands under the American P&G umbrella that have given a tough competition to the Indian brands.

7. Café Coffee Day

 The café coffee day is synonymous with coffee production in India. The coffee shop is the pioneer of the cafes in India. However, the homegrown brand has lost its charm to competitor brands like Starbucks, Costa Coffee, and Mcdonalds. India has seen a surge in the plethora of local coffee roasters and brands like Third Wave Coffee roaster, Blue Tokai, KC Roasters that are reclaiming and tapping the urban coffee market in India. The launch of the refreshing drinks by Café Coffee Day has aided the brand in recovering its lost charm.

8. Tata and Mahindra 

 In the complex and competitive industry, the locally made products compete with foreign assembled products. 

The Indian automobile brands like Tata, Bajaj, Mahindra, TVS are still battling to establish themselves leaders in the automobile industry. The components and R&D of the brands may be foreign-sourced, but the production remains within India. The profits earned by the automobile industry form a large part of India’s GDP. Even popular bikes like Royal Enfield and Bullet are made in India as they are owned by the Indian automobile brand Eicher Motors.

9. Maaza, Frooti and Paper Boat

Homegrown drink brands like frooti, Maaza, and Paper Boat have become a replacement for the soft drinks like Coke and Pepsi. The homegrown brews are giving a tough fight to Foreign beverages.

10. Amul and Britannia

Amul, the 75-year-old Indian dairy brand, has established itself as the dairy industry leader and continues to rule the game. Under Amul and Wadia group Britannia banner, more than 500 brands line up in the dairy products shelves in the supermarkets today. Indian dairy brands have successfully overruled foreign brands like Danone and Nestle. Even in the regional leaders like Mother Dairy, Nandhini and Saras have emerged in the dairy segment to bring about a change in the dairy industry.

11. Nirma washing powder

 Popular washing detergents like Surf Excel, Tide, and Ariel have though, are produced in the Indian factories and employ the Indian workforce, yet they cannot be considered Indian brands wholly as they make use of different ingredients. The detergent brands which are entirely Indian are Gujarat based Nirma and Ghadi detergent.

12. Made in India mobiles
